On August 29, 2016, delegates from the Faculty of Medicine included Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Pewpan Maleewong, Associate Dean for Research Affairs, Prof. Banchob Sripa, Director of Tropical Disease Research Center and WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Control of Opisthorchiasis and Dr. Daris Theerakulpisut, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Cooperation Strategies visited Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA together with other delegates from Khon Kaen University, namely Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for Foreign Affairs, Asst. Prof. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Communications, Dr. Waranuch Pitiphat, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Asst. Prof. Poramaporn Klanrit, Associate Dean for Research, Faculty of Dentistry, Asst. Prof. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Associate Dean for Student Development, Faculty of Dentistry, and Dr. Kitt Tientanopajai, Director, Bureau of Information Technology.
KKU team met Prof. Barbara J. McNeil, MD, PhD, Acting Dean of Harvard MedicalSchool and Prof. Edward Hundert, Dean for Medical Education and Prof. David Roberts, Dean for External Education, Prof. Fidencio Saldana, Dean for Students, Michele Cohn, Director, Curriculum Services, Prof. Sara Fazio, Advisory Dean and Director, Walter Bradford Cannon Society and Prof. Jennifer Potter, Advisory Dean and Director, William Bosworth Castle Society.
KKU delegates learned much about the new Pathways curriculum at Harvard Medical School and discussed with HMS team on improvement and implementation of curriculum and student advising at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
On August 30, 2016, KKU team met Prof. David Roberts, Dean for External Education, Dr. Michael Parker and discussed further details on HMS courses for medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Prof. David Roberts also invited Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Dean, Faculty of Medicine to give a video interview about KKU’s experience in participating in the HMX courses which will be posted on HMS’s website.
