Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University sign MOU with School of Medicine, Nankai University, the 315th World’s leading university.
Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor Rong Xiang, MD, PhD, Dean of school of Medicine, Nankai University signed the MOU between the two universities on December 4th, 2016 at School of Medicine, Nankai University, Tianjin, China together with Professor Pewpan Maleewong, Associate Dean for Research Affairs, Professor Viraphong Lulitanond, Director of Research and Diagnostic Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases (RCEID), Supranee Phanthanawiboon, Professor of Microbiology.
The Faculty of Medicine, KKU and School of Medicine, Nankai University are object to collaborate the medical research by setting the China-Thailand Center of Translational Medicine for Biological Vaccines institute via expertise researcher in cancer vaccines and immunology. Therefore the two institutions are supported founding and development fund by Science and Technology Assistant Program for Foreign Development, Ministry of Science and Technology (MST), China worth five million RMB. At the beginning the center will develop the dengue fever vaccines, dengue fever diagnosis kit, and plan to arrange the “1st China-ASEAN Conference on Tropical Diseases and Vaccines” on May 2017 that Nankai Uniersity would support travel and accommodation expenses for five researchers from each country. The two universities would have further collaboration on postgraduate co-supervisor exchange to build collaboration on Tropical Disease research and co-request research fund from global sources. In addition, the administrators discussed on short-term elective student exchange and collaborate with Confucius Institute, KKU to prepare Chinese language skill for students who would participate in this program.
