Procedure for Visa Application/ Renewal and Change of Type
Foreigners intending to enter Thailand must apply for a visa from the Thai embassy or consulate general located in their country of residence, or, from the Thai embassy assigned to take care of the country in which the foreigner resides. - Tourist Visa (TR): upon arrival a stay of 60 days will be granted to whom entering Thailand as tourists.
Tourist Visa Exemption entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay for 30 or 90 days.
Visa on arrival: applying for visa at the immigration checkpoints for tourism purposes not exceeding 15 days and extension of stay is not allowed. (see the list of countries and Immigration Checkpoints)
For those who holding TR Visa on arrival must contact International Relations Office immediately to change visa type to Non -Immigrant Visa Class ED.
Note: For those who holding Non-Immigrant Visa Class B or O cannot apply for visa change to Non-Immigrant Visa Class ED.
Non–Immigrant Visa
Non-Immigrant Visa: is the only visa for foreigners temporarily staying in the kingdom.
There is no different in the validity of the visa whether it is a sticker or a stamp. The visa type and class is clearly stated on sticker or stamp, e.g. Non-Immigrant Visa Class B for Business, Class ED for Education and O for other purposes.
Visiting professors, researchers, research assistances, lecturers, staff and students, including their dependent(s), who have been granted any type of Non-Immigrate Visa (ED, RS, B, O, F) will be permitted to remain in the country for a period of ninety (90) days upon their arrival in the Kingdom of Thailand. If they wish to stay in Thailand longer than the duration permitted, they can apply for a visa extension prior to the visa expiry date.
- Non-Immigrant Visa ED code for international student/ exchange student/ exchange personnel.
International students require a Non-Immigrant Education Visa (Category “ED”) to study in Thailand. Whenever possible, applicants should apply for their student visa well in advance of departing for Thailand. Applications should be made in person at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home country.
Documents to be submitted to the Royal Thai Embassy:
- Letter of Acceptance /Admission from the host university
- A completed visa application form
- A passport or travel documents valid for not less than six months
- Two 4 x 6 cm full-face photographs, taken within the past six months
- Evidence of adequate finance (as determined by the Royal Thai Embassy)
- Visa application fee.
- Non-Immigrant Visa RS code for research workers.
Documents to be submitted to the International Relations Office:
- Memorandum notifying student’s admission to the department/ program
- Copy of passport (first page)
- Research project details (For researchers)
Note: International students who receive a Non-Immigrant Visa ED or RS code from another educational institution in Thailand before entering/ conducting research at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, must notify immigration for a change of school as soon as possible.
Documents to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau to notify change of school:
- A letter to cancel the visa application for the previous educational institution.
- Letter of Admission to the Faculty of Medicine. Khon Kaen University
- Letter requesting aid for visa clearance from Khon Kaen University.

Visa Extension
Those wishing to extend their stay must apply for a visa extension within a period of forty-five (45) days of the expiry date of their current visa, and they may be permitted to stay in the country up to the maximum of one year. They may continue to apply for a renewal of their stay, on a yearly basis, until the end of their work or study period.
Documents to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau:
- Application form (TM.7)
- 1 passport photo (4 x 6 cm)
- Fee 1,900 baht
- A photo copy of the passport
- A photo of the pages of visa expiry date
- A copy of your arrival/ departure stamped
- A request letter for visa extension issued by the Khon Kaen University in support of the application (in Thai)
- Academic transcript or Certificate of study/ status (in case of study)

- Research Proposal (in case of researchers)
Change of Visa Type
Those holding a Tourist Visa (TR) granted by a Royal Thai Embassy overseas may request the change of a Tourist Visa to Non-Immigration Visa at the Immigration Bureau in Thailand. The application must be submitted at least fifteen (15) days prior to the visa expiry date. After the approval, they will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand for ninety (90) days. If they wish to stay in the country more than ninety (90) days, they are required to apply for the visa extension. If those who over stay in Thailand, they must return to their home country to apply the appropriate visa at Royal Thai Embassy or consulate.

- A photo of the pages of visa expiry date
- A copy of your arrival/ departure stamped

90-day Reporting
For foreigners staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90 consecutive days holding a Non-Immigrant Visa or Extension of Stay, you are required by Thai Immigration to report the present address every 90 days.
As a general rule, the foreigner must present to the Immigration Office in person within 15 days before, or within 7 days after, your 90-day period expires.
Documents to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau:
- A photo copy of the passport
- A photo of the pages of visa expiry date
- A copy of your arrival/ departure stamped
- Application form (TM.47)
Note. Notifying place of accommodation and reporting every 90 days is not a request to extend stay in Thailand. If a foreigner leaves Thailand before the end of the current 90-day period, the next 90-day period commences from the date of re–entry to the country.
Re–entry Permit
Those wishing to leave the Kingdom of Thailand during their permitted period of stay and want their visa to remain valid upon their returns, they must apply for a re-entry permit before leaving the Kingdom of Thailand, or their Non-Immigration visa will be cancelled automatically upon their departure. Foreigners holding Non-Immigrate visa can apply for the re-entry permit at the Immigration Bureau.
Documents to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau:
- Application form (TM.8)
- 1 passport photo (4 x 6 cm)
- A photo copy of the passport
- Fee 1,000 baht for a single re-entry and 3,800 baht for a multiple re-entry
Lost Passport
A foreigner whose passport is either lost or stolen after entering the Kingdom must do the following:
- A report must be filed at the local police station in the area where the passport was lost or stolen.
- Bring the police report to your embassy or consulate and apply for a new passport or substitute document. If there is no embassy or consulate in Thailand, please contact the Passport Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Bring your new passport or substitute document to the Immigration Bureau to have your visa re-stamped at Immigration Bureau, along with the following:
- passport or substitute document
- the report from a police station
- a document from the Embassy or consulate certifying the new passport (if any)
Reporting of Alien’s Residence
The Immigration Bureau must be informed when a foreigner resides with or rents the property of a Thai citizen.

Reporting Procedures:
- Authorities must be informed within 24 hours of the alien’s occupancy.
- The above procedures may be done by mail.
- All foreigners who will stay in Thailand longer than 90 days must complete the following requirements:
- Report to the Immigration Bureau in person to register your address. If you have stayed longer than 90 days without registering, you will need to report and pay a fine as described below. If you have not stayed longer than 90 days, you may designate an appointee to register for you. Required materials are your pass port and the TM. 47 Application Form.
- Report your address every 90 days thereafter to the Immigration Bureau which can be done by an appointee.
- If you have stayed in Thailand over 90 days without registering, you should report to the Immigration Bureau to register. The current fine for voluntarily reporting after the 90 days’ limit is 2,000 baht.
Important Note: Any overstay in the Kingdom of Thailand will cost 500 baht per day but not exceed the amount of 20,000 baht.

From 1 February, 2022, Thailand will reopen Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray – in Chon Buri, and Ko Chang in Trat as Sandbox destinations, in addition to Krabi, Phang-Nga, Phuket, and Ko Samui/Ko Pha-ngan/Ko Tao.
The Sandbox Extension programme will also be introduced between Phuket, Phang-Nga, Krabi, and Ko Samui/Ko Pha-ngan/Ko Tao, where Sandbox travelers can travel within these destinations during the first 7 days in Thailand.
Eligible travelers
- Thai citizens.
- Foreign travelers, including but not limited to diplomats, guests of the government, Thai work permit holders, students and their family, and patients seeking medical treatment.

- All countries/territories.
Points of entry
- By air at Phuket International Airport for Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Phuket.
- By air at Krabi International Airport for Krabi.

- From 1 February 2022: Chon Buri (Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray) and Trat (Ko Chang).
- From 1 February 2022: Sandbox Extension – Phuket, Phang-Nga, Krabi, and Ko Samui/Ko Pha-ngan/Ko Tao.
Pre–Arrival Requirements
All travelers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:
- A Thailand Pass, which can be applied via https://tp.consular.go.th/.
- A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.
- Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents with a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before travelling, are not required to have a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR test result and can have a saliva test when entering the Kingdom.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board the vessels must have a medical certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected within the officially specified time frame. Anyone on aboard with a history of COVID-19 infection within a period between 14-90 days must have a medical certificate of recovery.
- An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000. TAT recommends that travelers make sure to check the small print of any COVID–19 insurance policy before purchasing. Ultimately, the policy should cover the cost of treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID–19, including in–patient hospitalization, hospital isolation, hotel isolation, or related quarantine. The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travelers are planning to stay in Thailand, plus at least 10 extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveler’s second swab test result returns as positive.
- Thais and foreign expatriates under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt from this requirement.
- A confirmed payment for at least a 7-day stay at approved accommodation establishments; such as, a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotel, within the above-mentioned eligible Sandbox destinations.
- Travelers to Krabi, Phang-Nga, or Phuket can change accommodation 3 times within the first 7 days (can book 3 different hotels) within the province.
- Travelers to Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, and Ko Tao can change accommodation 3 times within the first 7 days (can book 3 different hotels). However, they must stay the first night on Ko Samui and must receive a negative result for their first RT-PCR test, before being able to change accommodation to other hotels on either Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, or Ko Tao. Or they can choose to book 3 different hotels on Ko Samui alone.
- Travelers under the Sandbox Extension programme, such as, Phuket and Phang-Nga, Phuket and Krabi, or Phuket and Ko Samui, can change accommodation 3 times within the first 7 days (can book 3 different hotels) within the areas. However, travelers on the Andaman (Krabi, Phang-Nga, or Phuket) extension with Ko Samui, must extend their trip by air only.
- For travelers to Chon Buri (Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray) and Trat (Ko Chang), we will provide more details as soon as possible.
- A confirmed payment for 2 RT-PCR tests;
- Krabi, Phang–Nga and Phuket: Travelers can reserve and prepay for the 2 RT-PCR tests via www.thailandpsas.com (2,100 Baht/test, or 4,200 Baht/2 tests).
- Surat Thai (Ko Samui, Ko Pha–ngan, and Ko Tao): Travelers can book and prepay for the 2 RT-PCR tests when booking and prepaying for accommodation at SHA++ hotels (2,200 Baht/test, or 4,400 Baht/2 tests). The first test will be conducted at Samui International Airport, and the second test at any of the designated hospitals on Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, or Ko Tao.
- For travelers under the Sandbox Extension programme, as well as travelers to Chon Buri (Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray) and Trat (Ko Chang), we will provide more details as soon as possible.
- A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination/Recovery
- Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
- Travelers 12-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.
- Travelers 6-11 years of age, travelling with parents, are exempt from this requirement.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board must be fully vaccinated. This is except for travelers under 18 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians. *We will provide an update on this as soon as the official information becomes available.
- Travelers with a history of COVID-19 infection who have recovered by medical treatment and travelers who have received at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine after post-infection must have a certificate of COVID-19 recovery.
All travelers must undergo ‘exit screening’ at the point of departure, i.e., at the airline check-in counter and present the required documents to the person-in-charge to carry out the checks.
On–Arrival Requirements / During the Stay
- 1. All travelers must undergo ‘entry screening’ including body temperature check at the point of entry.
- Travelers arriving on a direct flight to an international airport at the Sandbox destination must present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer to carry out the checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures.
- Travelers with a transit flight to the airport at the Sandbox destination (Currently only Samui Airport, and from 1 February 2022 also at Phuket International Airport) must undergo entry screening at the first point of entry or at the final destination:
- At the first point of entry, present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer to carry out the checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures before boarding the transit flight;
- At the final destination of entry, present the required documents to the Immigration/health Control officer to carry out the checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures.
- Proceed to the prearranged accommodation or medical facility to undergo the first RT-PCR test. The trip must be by a prearranged vehicle on a sealed route. Then, all travelers must wait for the test result within the hotel only. Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents, can have a saliva test.
- Travelers with a negative test result can enjoy travel activities within the Sandbox areas throughout the 7 days, but must return to their prearranged accommodation on a nightly basis. They are not allowed to stay overnight in any other places. In addition, they must undergo their second RT-PCR test on Day 5-6, or when they experience respiratory symptoms.
- Travelers whose test result returns as positive will be referred for appropriate medical treatment in accordance with Thailand’s Communicable Diseases Act B.E. 2558 (2015). The expenses must be covered by the required insurance for foreign travelers, or national healthcare coverage for Thais and eligible foreign expatriates. TAT recommends that travelers make sure to check the small print of any COVID–19 insurance policy before purchasing. Ultimately, the policy should cover the cost of treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID–19, including in–patient hospitalization, hospital isolation, hotel isolation, or related quarantine. The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travelers are planning to stay in Thailand, plus at least 10 extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveler’s second swab test result returns as positive.
- Pending on their conditions, they may be medically advised to receive treatment in either hospital hotel isolation or community isolation.
- While receiving the medical treatment – at least 10 days, they must remain in their accommodation only. They should not leave their accommodation unless utmost necessary, and must notify the Communicable Disease Control officer in-charge.
- After having recovered from COVID-19, they will receive a medical certificate of recovery.
- Travelers must stay at least the first 7 nights within a Sandbox destination if planning to continue the journey to other destinations in Thailand. If staying less than 7 nights, the traveler must leave Thailand to another country immediately.
- While in Thailand, travelers are advised to strictly follow standard, good personal hygiene practices; such as, wear a mask in public, maintain hand hygiene (washing with soap and water or using hand sanitizer), and keep physical distance of at least 1 meter from others.
- Travelers who experience COVID-like symptoms should get tested. If testing positive, they must get the appropriate medical treatment. Those with a COVID-19 testing appointment must get tested.
- All travelers must download and install the MorChana application, and set it on at all times for the COVID-19 precautionary measures and to record the result on Day 5-6 in the application.
- The second RT-PCR test will not be required if the traveler’s length of stay in a Sandbox destination is less than 6 nights, or his/her scheduled international departure date out of Thailand is on Day 5 or before. For example, if the traveler plans to stay in Thailand for 4 days, then he/she does not have to undergo the second RT-PCR test, but he/she must leave for another country immediately. However, whether the traveler will be required to take another RT-PCR test depend on the airline and the final international destination. For travelers who intend to stay 6 days (nights), they will be required to undergo the second RT-PCR test on Day 5-6 although they are scheduled to leave for another country.
- Travelers who intend to stay more than 7 nights and to continue their journey to other parts of Thailand must undergo the second RT-PCR COVID-19 test on Day 5-6. After receiving a negative test result on Day 7, travelers can obtain a ‘Release Form’ and from Day 8 continue their journey domestically.
Guidelines for Domestic/International Departure
For domestic departure, after having stayed the first 7 days in the above-mentioned eligible Sandbox destinations, travelers must obtain a ‘Release Form’ from their accommodation and from Day 8 are free to go anywhere in Thailand.
For international departure, it is the responsibility of travelers or their organizations to make sure that the travelers meet the requirements of their specific international destination regardless of the point of departure.

- A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.
- Thai nationals are exempt from this requirement.
- Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents, are exempt from this requirement.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board the vessels must have a medical certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected within the officially specified timeframe. Anyone on board with the history of COVID-19 infection within a period between 14-90 days must have a medical certificate of recovery.

- Foreign nationals must also have proof of payment for the required RT-PCR tests.
- In case of a 7-day or 10-day quarantine, 2 RT-PCR COVID-19 tests are required.
- In case of a 14-day quarantine, 3 RT-PCR COVID-19 tests are required.
- All travelers must undergo the ‘exit screening’ at the point of departure (air/land/water) and present the required documents to the person-in-charge to carry out the checks.
On–Arrival Requirements / During the Stay
- All travelers must undergo the ‘entry screening’, including body temperature check at the point of entry (air/land/water).
- Present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer to carry out the checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures.
- Then proceed to undergo the quarantine.
- At least a 7-day quarantine for travelers who have a Certificate of Vaccination for have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine – or at least 1 dose for travelers under 18 years of age – at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
- At least a 10-day quarantine for travelers who do not have a Certificate of Vaccination.
- For arrivals by water, if everyone on board has a Certificate of Vaccination for having been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine – or at least 1 dose for travelers under 18 years of age – at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand, then the quarantine period is 7 days. In case that any one of the people on board do not have a Certificate of Vaccination, then the quarantine period for everyone on board is 10 days.
- For travelers under 18 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians, the quarantine period is within the same duration as their parents or guardians.
- Undergo RT-PCR COVID-19 tests. For travelers under a 7-day quarantine, 2 RT-PCR tests on Day 0-1 and Day 5-6.
- For travelers under a 10-day quarantine, 2 RT-PCR tests on Day 0-1 and Day 8-9.
- For travelers under a 14-day quarantine, 3 RT-PCR tests on Day 0-1, Day 5-6, and Day 12-13.
- All travelers must download and install the MorChana application, and set it on at all times for COVID-19 precautionary measures.

From 1 February, 2022, fully vaccinated travelers from any country around the world can apply for a TEST & GO Thailand Pass up to 60 days in advance.

All travelers must have the following documents for entering Thailand:
- A Thailand Pass, which can be applied via https://tp.consular.go.th/. *The system will reopen for new TEST & GO applications from 1 February, 2022 (09.00 Hrs. Thailand Time)
- A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.
- Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents with a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before travelling, are not required to have a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR test result and can have a saliva test when entering the Kingdom.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board the vessels must have a medical certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected within the officially specified time frame. Anyone on aboard with a history of COVID-19 infection within a period between 14-90 days must have a medical certificate of recovery.
- An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000. TAT recommends that travelers make sure to check the small print of any COVID–19 insurance policy before purchasing. Ultimately, the policy should cover the cost of treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID–19, including in–patient hospitalization, hospital isolation, hotel isolation, or related quarantine. The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travelers are planning to stay in Thailand, plus at least 10 extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveler’s second swab test result returns as positive.
- Thais and foreign expatriates under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt from this requirement.
- A proof of prepayment for 2 separate nights of accommodation at government-approved hotel/s, such as, SHA Extra Plus (SHA++), AQ, OQ, or AHQ on Day 1 and Day 5, and the expenses for 2 RT-PCR tests on Day 1 and Day 5.
- The prepayment for Day 1 must include an accommodation, a test and a prearranged transfer from the airport to the hotel.
- Travelers can book 2 different hotels for the accommodation on Day 1 and Day 5. However, on both Day 1 and Day 5, they must stay within the room for the RT-PCR test result.
- The second RT-PCR test will not be required if the traveler’s length of stay is less than 5 nights, or his/her scheduled international departure date out of Thailand is on Day 5 or before. For example, if the traveler plans to stay in Thailand for 3 days, then he/she does not have to undergo the second RT-PCR test, but he/she must leave for another country immediately. However, whether the traveler will be required to take another RT-PCR test depend on the airline and the final international destination.
- A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination/Recovery
- Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
- Travelers 12-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.
- Travelers 6-11 years of age, travelling with parents, are exempt from this requirement.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board must be fully vaccinated. This is except for travelers under 18 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians.
- Travelers with a history of COVID-19 infection who have recovered by medical treatment, and travelers who have received at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine after post-infection must have a certificate of COVID-19 recovery.
All travelers must undergo ‘exit screening’ at the point of departure, i.e., at the airline check-in counter and present the required documents to the person-in-charge to carry out the checks.
On–Arrival Requirements / During the Stay
- All travelers must undergo ‘entry screening’, including body temperature check at the point of entry.
- Present the required documents to the Immigration/Health Control officer to carry out the checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures.
- Proceed to the prearranged accommodation or medical facility to undergo the first RT-PCR test. The trip must be by a prearranged vehicle on a sealed route. Then, all travelers must wait for the test result within the hotel only. Travelers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents, can have a saliva test.
- If testing negative for COVID-19, travelers are free to go anywhere in Thailand. However, they must stay at their prepaid accommodation on Day 5 and undergo their second COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR technique (they must stay within the room for the RT-PCR test result.) The second test can also be taken when the travelers experience respiratory symptoms.
- Travelers whose test result returns as positive will be referred for appropriate medical treatment in accordance with Thailand’s Communicable Diseases Act B.E. 2558 (2015). The expenses must be covered by the required insurance for foreign travelers, or national healthcare coverage for Thais and eligible foreign expatriates. TAT recommends that travelers make sure to check the small print of any COVID–19 insurance policy before purchasing. Ultimately, the policy should cover the cost of treatment and other medical expenses associated with being infected with COVID–19, including in–patient hospitalization, hospital isolation, hotel isolation, or related quarantine. The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travelers are planning to stay in Thailand, plus at least 10 extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveler’s second swab test result returns as positive.
- Pending on their conditions, they may be medically advised to receive treatment in either hospital hotel isolation or community isolation.
- During receiving the medical treatment – at least 10 days, they must remain in their accommodation only. They should not leave their accommodation unless utmost necessary, and must notify the Communicable Disease Control officer in-charge.
- After having recovered from COVID-19, they will receive a medical certificate of recovery.
- While in Thailand, travelers are advised to strictly follow standard, good personal hygiene practices; such as, wear a mask in public, maintain hand hygiene (washing with soap and water or using hand sanitizer), and keep physical distance of at least 1 metre from others.
- Travelers who are experiencing COVID-like symptoms should get tested. If testing positive they must get an appropriate medical treatment. Those with COVID-19 testing appointment must get tested.
- All travelers must download and install the MorChana application, and set it on at all times for the COVID-19 precautionary measures and to record the result on Day 5-6 in the application.
Meanwhile, travelers who have applied/obtained their Thailand Pass QR code before 22 December, 2021, with scheduled arrival dates in Thailand from 24 December, 2021, onwards, are still required to undergo their second COVID–19 test using the RT–PCR technique at government–designated facilities on Day 5–6 of their stay in Thailand, or when they experience respiratory symptoms (no additional cost).
Guidelines for Domestic/International Departure
For domestic departure, travelers must show proof that they have received a negative result for their RT-PCR test.
For international departure, it is the responsibility of travelers or their organizations to make sure that the travelers meet the requirements of their specific international destination regardless of the point of departure.

- Pfizer–BioNTech or Comirnaty by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech 2 doses needed / 3-week interval;
- Janssen or Janssen/Ad26.COV2.S by Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. – 1 dose needed;
- Moderna by Moderna Inc. – 2 doses needed / 4-week interval);
- Sinopharm or COVILO by Sinopharm Co., Ltd. – 2 doses needed / 3-4-week interval);
- Sputnik V by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology – 2 doses needed – 3-week interval);
- Covaxin by Bharat Biotech International Limited – 2 doses needed / 4-week interval.
